hi undf'd or anyone with a copy of the 9-15-02 wt: i saw undf's comments in another thread (about non-dubs attending book studies), and undf'd mentioned:.

the watchtower society hates the noble beroeans (from acts 17:10-12), so much in fact, that in their september 15th 2002 watchtower, they changed "be like the beroeans" into meaning "do not be like the beroeans"!

... acts 17:11: now these were more noble than those in thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.. .

I don't know if anyone feels this way, but when I read it the WTS sounds to me as if they are saying to not be like the Boreans. At least in a crazy, bass-ackwards, Bizarro way. Notice :

Well I always thought the point of mentioning the Boreans was the very fact that they did question Paul and his teachings. Isn't that questioning God's Word? I always thought they were lauded because they demanded Paul prove what he was saying. They were not gullible to believe what Paul said unless he backed it up. But it seems to me as if the Watchtower is trying to quiet down folks from criticising what they say, so they are likening themselves to "God's Word" and at the same time they are changing what the Boreans actually did. By saying the Boreans examined the scriptures, it gives the impression that there was no skepticism, no show-me attitude on their part. Just a thought. . . .

You told your story very well and you should be proud of your self that you survived that religon and family. Jehovah's Witnesses are tough on people, but even moreso on women. While I was reading your story I thought of something one of my therapists said to me when describing an event from her childhood: "Even the walls cried." I've known your family for years and I can believe every word you've written. It says a lot about that organization that this family is held up as an example for others to follow. I am sorry you had to go through what you did. You did not deserve any of the things you went through.

sometimes our anger is inappropriate, as when a parent loses control and beats their child.

there are situations that may rightfully get us angry.

Me. I get angry at myself for my many failings. The past couple of days I'm angry at myself for falling into a troll trap. It was set just to see if he could get someone (like me) angry and like an idiot I fell for it. I hate how I feel after I get that angry.

I didn't care for Sponge Bob at first, but he's kinda grown on me now. My favourite character though is Patrick, the starfish. My kids have memorized certain episodes and will act them out, complete with the dialogue.

to notso perfect......what do i have against her?i have known her since childbirth,and once upon a time she was a normal sweet person who loved her parents,then she changed.it started when she met scott i would say.thats when her troubles began after she got married.she started exploiting herself sexually and started makin up the wildest stories about her husband and herself and thats when i realized that she wasnt the same person and i realized what kind of morals she had and she started sayingthings about scott that was when i realized she isnt right.as the yrs went by she just got worse.and now i dont even know her,she has stretched her testomony and much of it is downright lies.i have actual letters from vicky from yrs back that contradict what she is claiming now.. why do i have against her???

?she has torn her family apart even cousins and aunts and uncles who can see right thru her.see you guy dont know both sides and you never will because vicky knows shes does enough damage and will come to her senses and her brainwashing by frank mottrill is coming out.you see he is usinh vicky as a pawn to get back at the wts for his own wrongdoing.anyway it will soon be over........i personally will never look or talk to her again,she has been disowned my her realtives,most are not even witnesses so what does that tell you.. for the record many of you may not know this but the lawyer for the wts.
